MARATHON DES SABLES 2016

“The Marathon des Sables is the stuff of legends. The gruelling multi-stage adventure through a mythical landscape in one of the world’s most inhospitable environments – the Sahara desert”. The Discovery Channel called it, “the toughest footrace on earth”.

Competitors come from all over the world, over a thousand individuals from forty countries; men and women of all ages, sizes and abilities. The MDS is hard if you’re an elite runner, competing for a top ten or a top one hundred place. This race is hard on individuals who just want to get round and finish.

Learn more about how I trained for this race, the lessons learned and hear from other women who have raced.
