On really long runs, when I’m training for “time on my feet” and not worrying about the speed or the distance, I’ll listen to podcasts. It helps me to maintain a nice slow rhythm. I love listening to interviews with inspirational guests. I also love the fact I’m learning while I run!
If I want to improve my time and run faster, I’ll listen to music with a great beat and rhythm. Its generally around 180 beats per minute, as this gives a great running tempo and can help to keep you going at a quick pace.
