#5 Slow going on the Lycian Way…. Meeting local shepherds & finding random sun-loungers!!

13th November - wildcamp between Gey and Bel to Patara Green Park, 17.3km

🇹🇷Lycian Way - Day 4 - 13th November 🇹🇷

⛰Today was a tough day on the trail, so many ups and downs, going over rock slides and crossing rock fields.... small rocks, medium rocks, large rocks! All the rocks!!!

🥾It can be a little demoralising when you’ve walked all day from sunrise to sunset and you’ve only done 17km! Each km has been a challenge - there doesn’t seem to be any “easy” miles yet!!

It’s so different from the Camino where you can go out and walk for 5/6 hrs and have completed 20/25km.

Our back packs are heavier and the terrain is certainly more tough going.

👉Is it worth it... hell yes!

👉It’s always going to be worth it.

💥You’ve got to challenge yourself in order to grow and develop. I’m leaning a lot, not only from the terrain, and the people we are meeting, but also from Kat -whose a very experienced hiked - go and read her blog (www.followingthearrows.com) to see the amazing walks she’s done all over the world.

🎥 I am filming footage every day and there will be Lycian Way vlogs coming out when I’m back in December. If you search for tough girl challenges on YouTube (link also in bio) you can continue to watch the vlogs from the Camino Portugués which are coming out until the end of November 😀 - new vlogs are scheduled to come out every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday.

We used the Komoot App while hiking.

We uploaded the GPX tracks to Komoot and used this to help with navigation. The Komoot app also tracks us, and provides a lot of information such as distance covered, elevation gain and loss, there is also voice directions which you can turn on. Mine was called Bob…. (don’t know why!)

*The Komoot App was gifted and we also received sponsorship for this hike.

All of the tracks from the 23 day hike have been recorded on Komoot. Follow me @ToughGirl and follow Kat @FollowTheArrows
