#12 Scrambling, over the rocky, coastal path to Boğazcık!

20th November - Kaş to Boğazcık, 19.6km

🇹🇷Wednesday, 20th November - Day 11 - Lycian Way, Turkey 🇹🇷

* From: Kas to Boğazcık * Weather: sunny ☀️

* Distance: 14.3 miles / 23km

* Ascent / descent: 2,300ft / 1,350ft

* Accom: slept on a couch 🛋

* Total cost: 2 cokes 12TRY, sleeping 20TRY, Food (omelet, chips & bread) 25TRY

👚 We left Kas with clean clothes, dry tents and a packed breakfast. We were ready to do some miles!

🥾There was a lot of costal walking with beautiful views, the terrain was rocky as it always is!!! There was a small amount of scrambling but nothing compared to the other day.

☀️The sun was incredible and it was brutally hot during midday. We kept on walking and there was very little shade to make use of. We did stop at a nice pebble beach to have some breakfast and snacks. I thought we would be passing some small cafes on the coastal route... we didn’t!! Oops!!!

💧The issue then became water. I was only carrying 1.8 litres and really I needed about 3! We luckily bumped into another hiker also going the same way and he mentioned the water source coming up. We would not have found it without him as it was up a small road and hidden from view. (I’ve now added it to the Komoot App so that future people who do the walk will be able to find it).

🥾After walking along the coast for quite a while, we soon turned inwards to face today’s climb. We were heading to the village of Boğazcık, at 925ft. There was a bit of road walking which did make it easier to make the miles.

⛺️We also passed a small cafe and campground - LYKİA CAMPİNG & CAFE. We popped in for drink and food and got sucked into the vortex!!

It was also starting to get late, the sun was going to be setting in 50 mins and there was no way we were going to be able to make the next destination and there was no camping spots along the way.

💰 In the end it was 20TRY each to camp and it was the sensible decision to make! So now we are super comfy, with food, drinks and WiFi!

👉As always the plan will be to get up early and get walking to make the most of the daylight available to us!

💗Thank you so much for following our journey! There will be vlogs and blog posts coming out in December.

We used the Komoot App while hiking.

We uploaded the GPX tracks to Komoot and used this to help with navigation. The Komoot app also tracks us, and provides a lot of information such as distance covered, elevation gain and loss, there is also voice directions which you can turn on. Mine was called Bob…. (don’t know why!)

*The Komoot App was gifted and we also received sponsorship for this hike.

All of the tracks from the 23 day hike have been recorded on Komoot. Follow me @ToughGirl and follow Kat @FollowTheArrows
