🥾 Camino Inglés Spain 🇪🇸– Day 1/5

Weather: Dry, Rain, thunder & lightning ⚡️

From: Ferrol

Start time: 9.30am from hotel - 10am from official start of the Camino.

To: Pontedeume – a charming coastal town

End time: 5.30pm

Accommodation: Pensión Casa Apilladeira

Terrain: Road, cobbles, country lanes. Mostly hard concrete & tarmac

Enjoyment: 6/10

Fatigue: 5/10 - I’m getting my iron levels checked again in May as I’m starting to feel tired again! Should have sorted this before the trip but life got in the way.

Terrain Difficulty: 3/10 - pretty flat for most of the day only 1 longer climb.

⭐️ Highlights of the Day: nice to be outside again, the weather though… not going to lie - was a struggle. Great to cross the bridge & get into town. Having a hot shower and getting clothes dry.

⛰️ Challenges: non stop rain for most of the day. Hard to control body temp. Waterproofs on & off all the time. I rolled my left ankle - which really annoyed me - as I’ve been doing so much ankle strength training, but I got caught out by a hole in the ground!
