Will you "find yourself" when travelling and what does that even mean?

People talk about how you go off travelling in order to go and “find yourself”. Not to get to wishy washy, but travelling is about finding yourself and understanding who you are, and what makes you tick as a person. Do you know what you enjoy doing? Or do you just like doing the things you’ve always done? Are you willing to try new things and give them a chance? What decisions do you make when it’s your choice, and you don’t need to consider anyone else? How do you like spend

TRAVEL Part 4 - Look after yourself and be safe

Travelling is amazing and you’ll have loads of fun, but you do need to consider your own personal safety, this goes for both male and female travellers. With common sense and being aware of your surroundings, you’ll be in a stronger situation and better prepared in case anything does happen. General Tips I never take anything of personal value with me. I don’t take any special jewellery or wear a watch. The only items worth anything would be my phone, kindle, wallet and cards

TRAVEL Part 3 - During your trip

As you could probably tell from the previous blog posts, I love planning and knowing where I’m going and where I’m staying. I like to have my trips planned, but equally I think its really important to have flexibility so you can change your plans at the last moment. If the option comes up to do a little side trip off to some unique location. You want to have the freedom to go off and do it. Its about getting the balance right between structure and flexibility. When I was in A

TRAVEL Part 2 - What to take?

One of the great things I learned about travelling was how little stuff I actually needed to get by. You won’t need loads of different tops and dresses. You honestly won’t care what you wear, you’ll live in a bikini, casual clothes and flip flops for the majority of the time. You may need a smart top, but generally you’ll be fine with strappy tops, shorts and wearing cheap accessories you can buy from the local markets - which also double up as souvenirs! I prefer a backpack

TRAVEL Part 1 - Before you go!

A great friend of mine, Alice who I did a ski season with in Verbier, got in contact recently as she's heading off to South East Asia backpacking and wanted some advice and tips. I though this would be a great opportunity to share some of the things I learned about travelling and to help you plan your next big travel adventure. This post covers off everything you’ll need to know before you go and gives you an essential check list to help you prepare. Decide where you want to

    Travelling South East Asia

I love, love, loved travelling around South East Asia. I had such an amazing time when I was eighteen on my first gap year in-between school and university. I spent about four months in total backpacking around Asia. I flew into Hong Kong, travelled by train into China, then flew out of Guangzou to Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam, it was then onto Laos, Thailand, Malaysia and finally Singapore. South East Asia is just awesome; the amazing food, the glorious weather, the incredibl
